My Dad bought me some Poscas

I have never tried a Posca pen until this year and I thought I didn't like them at first when I got them in the mail, but this week I'm enjoying my new medium-sized Poscas a lot! Dad got me them for me as a birthday present (after a decade of no presents!), and I must say I do like them.

They don't seem to take very well to thick or coarse paper, though, leaving a lot of felt on the surface.

Testing time-blocking

I had a very productive illustration day today because I thought I'd "test" out time-blocking again. What I mean by that is, I mapped out time constraints for each project I considered "urgent" or that required my attention this week. Since I came back from Canada, I have been keeping a notebook on my current long-term goals, but most particularly my mid to short-term goals. I used to be very anti "goal-setting" because I thought it would turn me into some kind of robot, and that the goals would "loom over" me or make me feel imprisoned. It is true that when I write my monthly goals, I become accountable to myself, and when I revisit the monthly list and realise I've accomplished little, I feel like shit! But I guess that is "good" guilt. Breaking down my lists a bit further, I now keep monthly "Eisenhower Quadrants" (a habit I picked up from watching a productivity YouTuber), where I write my IMPORTANT / URGENT ta...

Purposeless work, Absolute Buffoon, Simon Hanselmann

I've had an energy spurt and been doing lots of fun drawings. Not specifically for anything in particular, it's just fun to draw. I also don't have a job so that helps with too much free time. I did these pen drawings: I have also come up with a new name for (you know it) the rebirth of my Etsy store. I did a big text file with a bunch names, and think I'm gonna go with Absolute Buffoon because that's something I say a lot when I think someone's being dumb. I also like it because I think it would serve me well across comics and illustration. It sounds like a great name for a business! Tax man: "Business name?..." Me: "Absolute Buffoon."
